Waleed Husain is Ryan Specialty’s Chief Risk Officer, joining the firm in the fall of 2022. Waleed specializes in Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), designing scalable risk management solutions from scratch that encompass operational risk, reputational risk, liquidity risk, interest rate risk, credit risk, market risk, consumer compliance and second line risk mitigation with a focus towards achieving safety and soundness.

Waleed most recently served as Senior Vice President of Risk Management for Wintrust Financial, where he focused on developing a risk management framework over Liquidity Risk and Capital Markets that was commensurate with the Company’s overall size and complexity. Prior to his role with Wintrust, Waleed was Managing Director & Chief Risk Officer within JPMorgan Chase’s Consumer Community Bank, and before that, he was a leader in the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago’s Supervision & Regulation function, charged with oversight of a portfolio of financial institutions.

Waleed earned his Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Illinois. He is a U.S.-Commissioned Bank Examiner through the Federal Reserve System and has completed leadership coursework through The Wharton School.
