Graeme Rayner is Chief Underwriting Officer (International) at Ryan Specialty Underwriting Managers International (RSUMI), based in London. With over 30 years of specialty insurance underwriting experience, Graeme leads the formation and governance of underwriting protocols across RSUMI’s international MGUs.

Graeme is responsible for developing and implementing underwriting strategy, risk governance, product alignment and performance monitoring for international operations. He plays a pivotal role in expanding RSUMI’s global footprint and strengthening the underwriting discipline across all international programs.

Before joining RSUMI in late 2024 Graeme amassed significant underwriting leadership experience within the Lloyd’s and London Specialty market. His prior positions include Chief Underwriting Officer at Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance, Group Director of Underwriting at Pioneer Underwriters and Head of Specialty and Board Director at QBE International.  He has also served as Active Underwriter for Syndicate 3210 and Syndicate 1980.
