Carin Verhagen is General Counsel for Ryan Specialty International, with legal and compliance responsibility for the Ryan Specialty operations in Europe and Asia Pacific. Carin has worked in the international insurance industry for more than thirty years. Her vast experience includes M&A, compliance programs, international corporate structures, delegated authority, commercial, employment and employee representation, governance, E&O claims, Lloyd’s corporate members, litigation and dealing with cultural issues.

Carin joined Ryan Specialty in 2012, initially supporting the Jubilee syndicates that were managed by Ryan Specialty’s managing agent, and, since 2015, building on Ryan Specialty’s international underwriting managers.

Before joining Ryan Specialty, Carin worked seventeen years at Aon International, most recently as Chief Counsel for Aon International (EMEA and APAC).

Carin studied Dutch law at the Universiteit of Utrecht and took management programs at various international business schools. She is fluent in four languages.
