April 25, 2016, CHICAGO, IL – Ryan Specialty Group (RSG), the global specialty insurance services business based in Chicago, announced today that marine insurance executive, Jorge Pecci, has joined the company as President and CEO of the newly formed specialty marine underwriting manager, “Safe Waters”. Mr. Pecci is responsible for all aspects of the specialty marine business growing initially in the US and Latin America focusing on yacht and cargo. Ray Stahl is also joining SafeWaters with immediate effect as Senior Vice President to head the yacht practice.

Miles Wuller, COO of RSG Underwriting Managers (RSGUM), said, “We are pleased to have Jorge join us at RSGUM. Jorge is a recognized marine insurance industry expert with significant global management and operational experience. In addition to spearheading the development of RSGUM’s specialty marine underwriting manager, we look to Jorge’s deep relationships in Latin and South America to further expand RSGUM’s geographic presence.”

Safe Waters will initially have locations in Florida and New Jersey with forthcoming announcements regarding Latin American operations.

About Jorge Pecci

Mr. Pecci most recently was the AIG Marine Regional Executive for the Americas. He began his career in insurance with AIG in 1993, working in a variety of marine managerial positions. Mr. Pecci holds an LLM in Maritime Law from the London Metropolitan University / Lloyd’s Maritime Academy (UK), a Post Graduate Diploma in Marine Surveying (DipMarSur) from the University of Greenwich (UK) and a Major in Maritime Transportation & Deck officer License from the World Maritime University (Argentine branch). Before his career in insurance, Mr. Pecci served at sea in the Merchant Marine for over a decade ending his oceangoing career as Master Mariner.

Mr. Stahl was most recently SVP, Global Recreational Marine Practice for AIG. Prior to beginning at AIG in 2007, Mr. Stahl was SVP, Recreational Marine for ACE.
