June 7, 2018, CHICAGO – Ryan Specialty Group, LLC (RSG) is pleased to announce the expansion of its managing underwriting strategy with the launch of a reinsurance managing general underwriter, RyanRe Underwriting Managers (RyanRe). Working through reinsurance brokers, RyanRe can underwrite treaty and facultative reinsurance and will focus on property, casualty and professional liability.

RyanRe is led by Executive Chairman, Michael D. O’Halleran, along with the CEO and President, Brian Boornazian. Mike O’Halleran is a highly respected reinsurance professional who spent his entire career in the reinsurance sector. The bulk of Mike’s career to date was spent building Aon Benfield one of the industry’s largest and most successful reinsurance intermediaries, which he founded in 1987 and from which he recently retired. Brian Boornazian has been in the reinsurance business for over 35 years and was most recently at Aspen Re where he was Chairman. Having started at Aspen Re in 2004, Brian was instrumental in the company’s successful growth and expansion in the US and globally.
