Sverker Edström is Managing Director, Europe, of Ryan Financial Lines (formerly Ryan Specialty Nordics), a part of Ryan Specialty Underwriting Managers and an integral part of Ryan Specialty’s strategic focus to further expand in Europe. Based in Stockholm, Sverker is dedicated to providing bespoke financial lines insurance solutions to the commercial industry and financial institutions throughout the Nordic region as well as Benelux countries. Sverker joined Ryan Specialty in January 2017 and will continue to focus on professional lines, leveraging his European expertise to enhance the customer service available to local brokers and insureds.

Sverker brings nearly 25 years of experience in property and financial lines underwriting. Prior to joining Ryan Specialty, Sverker was with Navigators Group for ten years starting up the Swedish subsidiary NUAL AB which had an initial focus on financial lines products.

Prior to joining Navigators in 2006, Sverker was the Manager of Financial Lines brokering at Aon Sweden where he spent two years. In 2005 Sverker opened the Quanta Capital Swedish branch, which was part of Quanta Capital Europe, Ltd, Ireland, where he spent half of his two-year tenure working out of the Dublin office. Prior to Quanta, Sverker was with ACE European Group Ltd, Sweden as Manager of their Nordic Financial Lines portfolio. Sverker spent five years at Chubb Insurance Company of Europe (Sweden) where he joined the team underwriting Financial Lines insurances. Shortly thereafter he became Manager of the Financial Lines Underwriting team. Sverker began his underwriting career in 1993 with Commercial Union Plc, Sweden focusing on property insurance.

Sverker holds a Master of Law from Stockholm University.
