Sammy Shihab is the Head of Transact Risk Partners (“Transact”), a division of Ryan Transactional Risk. Together with Castel Underwriting Agencies, Sammy started Transact in 2016, and since then, Transact grew to become one of the largest transactional underwriters in Europe.

Before founding Transact, Sammy worked at AIG, establishing their Benelux transaction division and becoming the first underwriter to focus on the region. Sammy previously worked as a tax lawyer for PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), during his seven years in the Melbourne offices and two years in Jakarta, he specialized in M&A tax and international tax structuring.

Sammy has a bachelor’s degree in law (LLB Hons) and commerce from Deakin University in Melbourne, Australia.
