Nik Black joined Ryan Specialty Underwriting Managers in 2023 to establish their high value homeowners MGU Verdant Underwriting Managers.

Previously, Nik worked for Brit Insurance from 2013 to 2022, setting up a new high value book and holding multiple leadership positions, including Head of North American Facilities, Divisional Director and Delegated Underwriting Performance Director. Prior to Brit, Nik built a new high value homeowner book from scratch for Sagicor starting in 2008, a book which regularly outperformed other areas of the business. Nik specialized in North American property binders with Hiscox, where he spent nearly a decade beginning in 1998, and he began his career at Commercial Union in 1996.
