John Rogers has served on our Board since 2014 and serves on both the Compensation and Governance Committee and the Executive Committee. Mr. Rogers is the Founder, Chairman, Co-Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer of Ariel Investments. Throughout his career, Mr. Rogers has been recognized for his investment expertise, including being selected as an All-Star Mutual Fund Manager by USA TODAY and highlighted in the book “The World’s 99 Greatest Investors” by Magnus Angenfelt.
Mr. Rogers is a board member of NIKE, The New York Times Company and serves as vice chair of the board of trustees of the University of Chicago. From 2000 to 2019, he served on the board of directors of Exelon Corp. and from 2003 to 2023 he served on the board of directors of McDonalds Corporation. Following the election of President Barack Obama, Mr. Rogers served as co-chair for the Presidential Inaugural Committee 2009, and in 2016 he joined the Barack Obama Foundation’s board of directors. Nationally, Mr. Rogers is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and a director of the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights.
Mr. Rogers earned his Bachelor of Arts from Princeton University and in 2008 was awarded Princeton University’s highest honor, the Woodrow Wilson Award, presented each year to the alumnus or alumna whose career embodies a commitment to national service.
