Colin Rose is a founder and Head of Castel Construction, an underwriting unit within Ryan Specialty Underwriting Managers International following Ryan Specialty’s acquisition of Castel in 2024. Colin has written worldwide construction and engineering classes for over 37 years and has been based in London, Germany and the USA during his career.

Colin joined Castel in April 2019 from Beazley, where he was Global Head of Construction & Engineering leading four platforms writing business in London, USA, Singapore and Latin America. He began his career at St Paul Companies, joined Cologne Re in Germany and Cigna/ACE and GE Frankona in London.

Colin has a background in all types of construction and engineering insurances and associated classes and underwrites all on both an annually renewable and single project basis. He graduated from Kingston University with a BA honors degree in economics, politics and German.
